Is the population, but also the mass, who have to decide by a vote of the greats decisions of a country?

Or is only thoses who knows who have to take the decisions, based on the idea this is not the majority who is necessarily right?

I think the population has to vote, by a referendum. The great and important decisions concern all of us, and not just our politicians. De Gaulle understood and applied that (not Sarkozy, who has never made a referendum during his quinquennium).

But we cannot do a referendum for all of important decisions which are taken, because if we do that, we could be paralyzed during the time before we vote. That's why we have to vote in May or June (I don't remember the first round's date). But for who, that's a real question...

Sarkozy didn't make a referendum, that's right. Chirac had done one, and the population didn't understand the importance of this, and finally vote "no", without reading what was writing on ! So the French's population is a confluence of idiots, who wants work less to have more money...

But to vote is a republic duty, and a patriotic duty. We are very lucky to have this right, so before to vote, we must think about the France's situation and the best ways to improve it.

If you are talking about the referendum in 2005, for the European treaty, I think it's normal that people said no, because it was very hard to understand, and was not explained by our politicians. Even lawyers said that this treaty was weird, and even them couldn't explain it correctly. So, do you want to say "yes" if you don't understand what it is ?

But it's no longer a problem since Sarkozy made the treaty of Lisbon, and he didn't want to have our opinion. I find this was non-democratic, but it's another problem and I don't want to have another debate about Sarkozy.

And it's not a French matter, it's a human problem to want to have more money for less work. Okay, in France, it's more representative. x)

Finally, I'm totally agree with you about our duty ! But I think we don't have somebody who will become a good president in our politicians actually.

I am absolutely agree with you concerning the politicians. We need a french Nelson Mandela.

If I remember in 2005, you had many TVShows which explain that. Chirac maid a TVShow to explain too, but how many french peoples were really interested ? And that's the french's problem.

And yes, it's more representative in France, the others country must be laughing about us...
